You will study a varied and exciting series of modules aimed to develop your theological skills and understanding and help you apply this new knowledge to your specific context and concerns. At the beginning of the course you will explore critically the methodological presumptions which underpin practical and public theology. This provides a grounding for your theological engagement with your context. Further modules may include practical theology project, spirituality, and ritual and liturgy. You may then undertake advanced study in important public theology topics such as biblical studies, ethics, pluralism and diversity, and missiology.

We accept a wide range of internationally recognised qualifications. As a general guide, most of our undergraduate programmes accept one of the following.

  • A recognised and relevant foundation/Access course (minimum pass mark for a UK-based foundation programme is usually 55%)
  • High School Diploma (to age 18) where it is deemed equivalent to A Levels (3 A Level passes at BCC/CCC)
  • An International Baccalaureate (28 points)
  • EDEXCEL BTEC National Diploma (MMM-DMM)

As a general guide, for postgraduate study you'll need to hold the equivalent of a good honours degree (a 2:1 or 2:2 depending on the course) from a recognised university.

We also accept applications from students who have completed a 'top-up' degree at a UK university. If you hold a UK degree you don't need to provide an IELTS or other English language test certificate.
