Mathematics can open doors to a wide range of careers with employers increasingly looking to quantify and understand data, seeking new and improved solutions to business, health, technological and societal challenges.

This degree creates work-ready professionals with sound knowledge in applied mathematics and strong multi-disciplinary skills. You will develop the analytical and problem-solving skills to play a valuable role in the growth of society.

Because this degree is diverse and flexible, you’ll also explore the relationship and application of mathematics to other areas such as physics, engineering, information technology and biology. In your final year you’ll have the chance to complete an industry-based project to apply your knowledge and skills in a real-world setting.

If you think you might be interested in secondary school teaching, you can apply for the Bachelor of Mathematics (Industrial and Applied Mathematics)/Master of Teaching (Secondary), it’s a direct pathway into postgraduate study.

Alternatively, you could choose to continue with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Honours) (Mathematics) or eventually a PhD.
