This diverse and flexible degree allows students to explore the relationship and application of mathematics to other areas such as physics, engineering, information technology and biology. With qualifications in Industrial and Applied Mathematics, graduates may pursue their future career in defense, government and finance sectors as biostatistician, big data researcher, business data analyst, or information security analyst. In first year, this degree will cover core subjects in mathematics and IT. Students will focus on building their mathematical and programming skills with courses that include calculus, statistical methods, fundamentals of programming, and databases. Students will study multi-disciplinary areas such as mathematical modelling, data collection and analysis, numerical analysis, and the implementation of computer-driven solutions. Students can also choose to study a minor in Information Technology. In the final year, students will take part in the Maths Clinic program.
