Computation oriented research has become an integral part of almost all sciences and engineering research and the role of the scientists. The Computational Science and Engineering Program at Michigan Tech has two main components: the non-departmental CSE PhD program and the Computational Science and Engineering Research Institute (CSERI). The CSERI serves the PhD program and the entire research community at Michigan Tech. To be considered for admission to the Graduate School as a degree seeking student, the applicant must be the recipient of a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent from an accredited institution, adequately prepared for advanced study in the chosen field of specialization, as demonstrated by the previous program of study and the scholastic record. Other English language requirements: Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL): minimum 550 PBT, Eiken STEP: minimum P1 (for Japanese applicants; includes speaking portion; score of 2A=ESL, P2=low beginner, 1=accept for grad); MELAB: minimum 77 (average of scores on parts 1, 2, and 3) US and Canada test sites only; Pearson Test of English: 53.
