The M.S. in Civil Engineering offers two areas of emphasis, structural engineering and transportation systems management, while offering breadth in the areas of geotechnical engineering, water and wastewater treatment, and facilities management. A minimum of 30 term-credit hours beyond the baccalaureate degree is required. For full-time graduate students, 6 term-credit hours may involve research and completion of a thesis, with approval from the student’s advisor, with an additional 24 term-credit hours of course work. The program also has the flexibility to meet the needs of part-time students, already working in industry, who typically take the non-thesis route with 30 term-credit hours of course work. All civil engineering graduate courses are offered with evening class times and via distance learning, to accommodate the busy schedules of working professionals.

Graduate Point Average of at least 3 on a 4 scale, Satisfy School of Engineering Graduate Record Examination score guidelines.
