Admission Requirements

6.5+
Applicants must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) and satisfactory scores on the aptitude parts (verbal and quantitative) of the Graduate Record Examination. (To be considered for financial aid in our Ph.D. program, the GRE scores must total at least 310 (on the new scale) on the verbal and quantitative parts combined.). While helpful, a Bachelor's degree in economics is not required --the program is open to students from other fields such as mathematics, statistics, and engineering. However, all applicants must have taken at least 12 hours of economics, including two intermediate theory courses, one in price theory, and one in macro-economics.
