This Course in Master of Music are designed to provide increased specialization in the major field beyond the undergraduate level, and at the same time to assure that students continue to develop the breadth of competencies required to function as well-rounded professionals. While specific degree requirements vary according to the major field pursued, all Master of Music degree programs include the following components: performance, research, pedagogy, music history and music theory. The Artist Certificate is intended for exceptional performers with a bachelor's degree or equivalent credentials who are in the final stages of preparation for a professional career. The Master of Music in Music History program offers research and teaching experiences in preparation for Ph.D. work in musicology. These experiences include historical seminars, information retrieval procedures including the most up-to-date Internet resources, historical notational studies, foreign language skills and critical writing.

Admission Requirements

There are certain graduate admission requirements that are standard across all the programs of the Meadows School. These include application forms, academic transcripts, resumes, and recommendation letters. International students are also required to take the Test Of English as Foreign Language. Applicants to the Master of Music or the M.M.T. must hold a Bachelor of Music or the equivalent. Additional requirements depend upon the area of study.
