The Department of Computer Science was established at the thirty-eighth session of the Higher Education Council on Jumada al-Awwal 26, 1426, as one of the departments of the college affiliated with King Saud University, and with the issuance of approval, preparation for the department began.
The department offers a bachelor's degree program in computer science. Upon completion of the requirements for this program, students obtain a bachelor's degree in computer science, which works to prepare highly qualified cadres specialized in the field of computer science.
Since its establishment, the Department of Computer Science has been committed to consolidating scientific knowledge and practical experiences in the field of computer science through comprehensive updating of all course contents to reflect the current image of the field of computer science and enable students to keep pace with the latest developments in this broad and renewable field.
Therefore, this curriculum was designed within a mechanism and methodology that gives the department wide freedom to adapt curricula according to the desire of students who wish to become specialists in the various fields of computer science, as well as for students who aspire to continue postgraduate studies in the specialization, as well as those who wish to cooperate with other branches of knowledge related to this specialization.
