AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

 

The objective of this master programme is that students have acquired a deeper understanding and knowledge of important facets of information systems, information system design and information system organization and management. Since information systems are prevalent in almost every aspects of modern business and are required to achieve business strategies, it is important to understand the wider business context of information systems as well as how they can be integrated to improve quality performance. The overall goal of the programme is to provide students with an advanced understanding of these aspects of information system. Following the comprehensive goal, theoretical concepts, models and tools will be compared with real world problems in information systems and train students in advanced problem solving issues. The programme also aims to introduce, explain and apply methodological aspects of information technology, management and business in information systems. The program offer is aimed at fulfilling important features of information systems programs: professional orientation, value added, flexibility, practice and the opportunity to specialize in different career tracks.

 

There are four typical job profiles in professional application of the programme (1) Information Manager – graduates would be able to design and implement information systems that facilitate the flow of information between organizations and their partners. They blend in organizations integrated into network economy and can play a substantial role in strategic management. (2) Process Manager – Process managers view companies as interdepartmental value chains and can identify and optimize corporate added value processes.  Process managers are able to eliminate superfluous information and streamline processes of management. (3) Business Network Manager- graduates are able to design and optimize inter-organizational information infrastructure. They are skilled in business intelligence and ways of integrating data analytics into management processes. (4) Information Analyst – The information Analyst would be capable of collecting important data that are helpful for those in charge of managing companies.  They are aware of the information needs and would be able to apply them in both enterprise and public sector.
