The Bachelor's program of chemical engineering
at Hadhramout University aims to prepare highly qualified engineers capable of
designing, operating, and improving chemical industrial processes. The
curriculum integrates scientific principles with practical applications to
prepare students for real-world challenges in industrial environments. The
program spans five academic years (ten semesters) , combining
theoretical instruction, laboratory work, and field training. Courses of the
program include: organic, physical, and analytical chemistry, fluid mechanics,
heat and mass transfer, chemical reaction engineering, chemical process design,
process control, industrial safety, and chemical engineering economics. After complaining about the program, the student acquired skills in the process design and systems
analysis, use of engineering simulation software, analytical thinking and
problem-solving, teamwork and leadership, environmental and safety compliance,
and technical and professional communication. Graduates of the program are qualified
to work in chemical and petrochemical industries, cement, fertilizer, and pharmaceutical
factories, power plants, water desalination units, engineering consultancy
firms, quality and environmental laboratories, and academic and research
