About Universitas Al-Azhar Indonesia
Universitas Al-Azhar Indonesia (UAI), officially known in English as the University of Al-Azhar Indonesia, was established in 2000 under the auspices of the Al-Azhar Islamic Boarding Foundation (Yayasan Pesantren Islam Al-Azhar). Accredited "Unggul" (Excellent) by the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT), UAI is committed to developing visionary leaders with noble character through quality higher education.
The governance and educational culture of UAI are based on the principles of an Enterprising University, upholding academic excellence while integrating Islamic spiritual, moral, and ethical values. This approach aims to prepare graduates with intellectual capability, professional competence, and an entrepreneurial mindset to contribute to society and future development.
The University currently comprises six faculties offering 25 academic programmes, including 19 bachelor's programmes, five master's programmes, and one doctoral programme, serving more than 6,000 students. UAI provides modern learning facilities, a strategic location in Jakarta, convenient access to public transportation, and an academic environment that supports education, research, and global collaboration.
