As Japanese investors increasingly come to Indonesia to open companies, the need for graduates proficient in Japanese language and culture is growing. Furthermore, Indonesian interest in Japanese pop culture, such as music, comics, fashion, film, animation, and more, is also growing.
Based on these facts, the Japanese Language and Culture Study Program of UAI has been conducting Japanese studies education since 2001. The Japanese Language and Culture Study Program of UAI offers and organizes education that aims to produce skilled and independent workers who have Japanese insight and Japanese language competence so that they are able to create new jobs, have the qualifications to work in private and government institutions, and have the ability to analyze cultural, literary, linguistic and applied aspects.
The process of learning Japanese at UAI is carried out by utilizing the latest technology, social networks, etc. At the end of the study period, students of the UAI Japanese Language and Culture Study Program are targeted to have applicable Japanese language skills and can be directly used in the workplace, such as Japanese companies, etc. In addition to traditional cultures, such as Kabuki, Matsuri, etc., students of the UAI Japanese Language and Culture Study Program also learn about Japanese pop culture such as anime, comics/manga, cosplay, music, otaku, etc. Students of the UAI Japanese Language and Culture Study Program are also included in research activities and various competitions in the field of Japanese.

Vision To become a leading and superior study program at the regional level that is able to produce graduates in the field of Japanese Language and Culture who are professional, have a creative spirit and Japanese edupreunership, and are competitive with Japanese language skills equivalent to N3 and related digital competencies based on Islamic spiritual, moral and ethical values.

- Conducting quality research in the field of Japanese language and culture to produce appropriate innovations according to the needs of society.
