Islamic Education

The Islamic Religious Education (PAI) Study Program at Al Azhar Indonesia University is designed to produce educators and educational staff who master the field of Islamic religion based on Islamic spiritual, moral, professional and ethical values.

During their studies, Islamic Religious Education students will develop a variety of creative and innovative learning strategies and pedagogical skills. Furthermore, they will be able to effectively utilize information and communication technology in the development of Islamic education.

This study program is one of the characteristics of Al Azhar University Indonesia because it has a curriculum that supports the huffaz (memorizers) of the Quran, encouraging students to master English and Arabic as international languages.

Learning activities in the Islamic Religious Education Study Program also implement a curriculum based on the Indonesian National Qualifications Framework (KKNI), in accordance with Presidential Regulation No. 8 of 2012 concerning the KKNI. This is intended to ensure the quality of prospective professional educators produced by UAI, which focuses on an enterprising university, while also serving as the university's vision.

In line with the university's vision, graduates of the Islamic Religious Education (PAI) study program, in addition to focusing on becoming educators and educational staff, can also choose careers based on their expertise, including as preachers, educational entrepreneurs, and educational consultants. The PAI curriculum is designed to expand knowledge across a broader range, including incorporating Islamic Edupreneurship, a combination of two fundamental concepts: Islamic education and entrepreneurship.
