This MSc course shares modules with our MA Computer Games Development (Art), reflecting the multi-disciplinary nature of games creation.

In two games development modules you’ll apply your existing skills to complex interdisciplinary projects, testing games design theory in a framework that will allow you to collaboratively plan successive games projects.

You’ll later develop a project that focuses on creating an innovative games experience. We’ll challenge you to develop projects with a target platform, audience and reward strategy in mind, and to reflect professional, legal and ethical issues in your game design.

Our games programming module recognises the many specialised components of modern games and the need for an aspiring games programmer to focus on and gain expertise in one area. You’ll work towards a set of specific objectives and take responsibility for your own learning.

The Major Project is your opportunity to choose a topic to explore in depth and carry out independent research and critical analysis.

Modules are subject to change and availability.

We’ll ensure you’re on track through a combination of written and practical work, both as an individual and as team activities.
