Our Medical Science degree course, accredited by the Royal Society of Biology, combines an understanding of how a healthy body works, how disease develops and how normal function can be restored. Main: 96 UCAS Tariff points from a minimum of 2 A Levels (or equivalent) including a pass in Science (Biology or Chemistry are preferred). 3 GCSEs at grade C, or grade 4, or above, including English and Maths. If English is not your first language you will be expected to demonstrate a certificated level of proficiency of at least IELTS 6.0 (Academic level) or equivalent English Language qualification, as recognised by Anglia Ruskin University.
Notes: For applicants who do not meet the standard entry tariff but have at least 48 UCAS tariff points, a 4 year (full-time) option including Foundation Year is available. If you have already achieved your Access to HE results and are unsure if we can consider you, please contact us.
Alternatives: BTEC Extended Diploma in Applied Science with grade profile MMM to include 6 Chemistry titled units and 6 Biology titled units at Merit or above. UCAS Tariff Points from Access to HE Diplomas in Science are accepted. International Baccalaureate Diploma with a minimum of 24 points is accepted. This must include a Science subject at Higher level (Biology or Chemistry are preferred). UCAS Tariff points from Scottish Advanced Highers are accepted, related subjects are required. UCAS Tariff points from Scottish Highers are accepted, related subjects are required. UCAS Tariff points from the Irish Leaving Certificate are accepted, related subjects are required. UCAS Tariff points acquired from the International Baccalaureate Certificate are accepted. This must include a Science subject at Higher level (Biology or Chemistry are preferred).
