Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Lucknow follows the
principles as propounded by Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar which are primarily
focused to strengthen the competence of marginalized communities. The
University is located in the state capital of Uttar Pradesh. The University is
following National Education Policy 2020 guidelines for curriculum of both at
UG and PG level. There are eight faculty members who are among top 2% World
Scientists (Listed by Stanford University). There are students from 28 states, 2
UTs and some foreign countries. Out of the total students coming from other
states, 44% of them are girls. The University has established good connect with
the community as evident from records. It has helped in decreasing school
dropout in 5 adopted villages and organic farming is introduced through
University efforts in 20 villages from different states. The University
accredited with NAAC A++ grade with score of 3.72 in 4-point scale for cycle of
accreditation (2023-2028). The University is certified with Green Building
Certification, ISO 50001:2018 Energy Management, ISO 14001:2015 Environmental
management. The finance department of the University is also certified by ISO
9001:2015 for Quality Management System. The University has ranked as 42nd
by National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) in 2023 and 3.5 rating has
been provided to University in Atal Ranking of Institution Innovation Council,
Govt. of India. University also got 264th rank in QS Rankings in
South Asian Region and first in Lucknow in 2026. The university also got
Category -I status by UGC in 2024. University has centre for Innovation,
Incubation and Entrepreneurship and patent cell for development of more
technologies and patents and incubation of start-ups. The university also has
registered Sec-8 Company named Nav Kalpana for promoting Incubation Innovation
in University also started Eminent Lecture Series fortnightly for wider
exposure. The University started hobby classes on music, painting,
photography etc. to promote a skill among students into Curriculum. The non-credit
paper of gender studies environmental studies etc. are mandatory for all
UG& PG under MPDC courses. Total enrolment of students is approx. 6000. Mobilization
of consultancy projects from industries and non-government sources is being
done. Strengthening of International cell is being done to attract more
international students. Planning to start a School of Health and Paramedical
Sciences and a Department of Medical Lab Technology and run Bachelor of Medical
Lab Technology and Bachelor of Physiotherapy in the first phase. Also planning
to start advanced Diploma Courses proposed by Skill Development Committee in
phased manner. The University is also planning to start Diploma courses in
German, French and Spanish under the Department of Foreign Languages in School
of Languages and Literature. The university is also planning to start the
programs on Hotel & Tourism Management, School of Defense Studies and
Technology consisting of Department of Defense and Strategic Studies, Defense
Technology and Internal Security in a phased manner. Planning to strengthen our
cultural heritage and concept of unity in diversity by starting Indian Language
courses like Pali,Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam etc. under the department of Modern
Indian Languages.
