Business Information Systems BSc (Hons) at De Montfort University will teach you the skills to solve problems, participate, and lead in the development of business information systems and management of business computing projects. You will have the opportunity to develop the knowledge and skills required in the analysis and design of business IT systems. You will also gain people and problem solving skills so you can confidently discuss, negotiate and manage customer requirements, the needs of service providers and senior management requests. This course is run in partnership with Hewlett Packard (HP). Hewlett Packard provides 13 per cent of the teaching input and offers a personal mentoring scheme, preferred placement opportunities and professional qualifications. This ground-breaking partnership allows you to benefit from DMU’s world class academic research, leading-edge information technology facilities and industry standard professionalism exemplified by HP’s renowned business solutions and services. This course also includes PRINCE2 project management accreditation and foundation studies in Information Technology Information Library (ITIL). These professional certifications are increasingly sought after if you would like a career in IT management. 100 per cent of graduates are in work or further study within six months of completing this course (DHLE 15/16).
