The Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Water and Environmental Management program provides advanced academic and research training in water resources and environmental systems. Students complete 36 credits, including 18 credits of thesis research, enabling them to conduct in-depth investigations into water management, pollution control, climate resilience, and sustainable development. The program emphasizes scientific and technical competence in hydrology, wastewater treatment, GIS/remote sensing applications, climate change impact analysis, and environmental risk assessment. Graduates are equipped for professional and academic careers in research institutions, government agencies, consulting firms, and international development organizations. Students complete 36 credits through one of the following study options:

Project-based option: 30 credits of coursework and a 6-credit project, allowing students to apply theoretical knowledge to a real-world environmental or water management problem. Course -only option (only for Master in Water and Environmental Management) : 36 credits of coursework, ideal for those focusing on professional skill enhancement rather than research or project development.

M.Sc./M Engg in Water and Environmental Management

·          Minimum GPA 3.00 (out of 5.00) in SSC/HSC or 2.75 (out of 4.00) or First Division/equivalent.

 

·          Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Science with CGPA ≥ 2.75 (out of 4.00).

 

·          Relaxation possible for deputed/sponsored candidates (academic institutions, research organizations, international agencies, DUET graduates).

 

M.Sc. Engg. / M. Engg in Water and Environment

 

·          Have a minimum GPA of 3.00 out of 5.00 or 2.75 out of 4.00, or a first division in SSC, HSC, or Diploma in Engineering, or equivalent examinations; and

 

·          Hold a B.Sc. Engineering degree in Civil Engineering, Civil and Environmental Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, or other relevant branches from a recognized university/institute, with a minimum CGPA of 2.75 out of 4.00.

 

·          The Equivalence/Eligibility Committee will assess the suitability of applicants’ degrees for admission.

 

·          The CGPA requirement may be relaxed up to 2.60 (out of 4.00) for candidates who are on deputation or sponsored by academic institutions, research or international organizations, or DUET graduates, subject to recommendation by the Institute’s Admission Committee and approval by the Academic Council.
