Our BA in Anthropology focuses on social anthropology, the study of human social life and cultural diversity. Social anthropology is an extremely broad subject overlapping with many others, including sociology, politics, history, economics and social geography.
As a student on our BA Anthropology programme, you would study how humans form communities, such as families and religious groups, and how human communities are responding to current challenges such as economic crises and climate change.
Studying social anthropology equips you with skills that are transferable to a number of professional contexts, including designing research, maintaining ethical standards and navigating cultural differences.
Our Anthropology graduates go on to a wide range of professions including working in government, healthcare, finance, education, research, marketing, environmental sustainability and law. Many of our students also go on to postgraduate study, including in other subjects.
