Erasmus School of Philosophy offers a unique programme for students who wish to obtain a second degree in philosophy. This programme is highly flexible and can be easily combined with all bachelor programmes offered at Erasmus University Rotterdam.

A degree in philosophy is an excellent complement to any other degree. In the current age of uncertainty and rapidly advancing technologies, knowledge of philosophical problems and skills remain relevant. In this programme, you will learn to express arguments clearly and to think critically and creatively.

Guided by dedicated lecturers, you will delve into various philosophical topics, ranging from the philosophy of the Enlightenment to post-modern continental philosophy and from ethics to philosophy of science.

All students who have (at least) successfully completed the first year (60 ec) of his or her main bachelor degree from Erasmus University Rotterdam can start with Philosophy of a Specific Discipline at Erasmus University Rotterdam.
For students with a degree from another Dutch research university, admissions will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
If you have not yet fully completed the first year of another programme, but expect to do so before September 1st, you can register for the programme as well. However, to complete Philosophy of a Specific Discipline you need at least 90 European credits from another university bachelor programme.
Please note that all students studying for a degree from a non-Dutch university need to finish their entire bachelor first. For students with a degree from a non-Dutch university, admissions will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
