Economics majors will be able to apply standard macroeconomic theories to explain the behavior of industrialized macro economies. Economics majors will be able to explain the role of government in promoting economic well-being, regulating economic activity and correcting for market failures. Economics majors will be able to think critically about the ethical and moral implications of choices made by individuals, businesses and governments. Economics majors will be able to construct judicious and convincing arguments and present them effectively in written reports and oral presentations. Economics majors will be able to logically conduct analyses of current economic issues using mathematical models, equations, graphs, databases, statistical inference and software.
