The requirements for admission to university Master’s programmes are regulated by Royal Decree 1393/2007 (and its modification via Royal Decree 861/2010). Candidates must meet one of the following requirements to be admitted:
They should hold an official Spanish university Bachelor’s degree.
Hold an official EHEA-member country Bachelor’s degree entitling them to pursue a Master’s degree.
For candidates from countries not belonging to the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) and not specifically requiring that they be officially recognised, the university shall verify that the original degree accredits the equivalent training to that provided by the corresponding official Spanish Bachelor’s degree and that said original degree entitles students to take part in Master’s programmes.
In no case shall admissions to a Master’s programme imply any change to the candidates’ academic or professional status corresponding to their previous studies. Similarly, admissions to a Master’s programme shall not constitute formal recognition of students’ prior degrees other than to enable them to take part in said programmes.

The programme enables students to develop a comprehensive understanding of architectural design as a research-driven process, from conceptual development to implementation and dissemination. Through a multi-logic curriculum, students acquire advanced design skills, critical thinking and technological awareness, while engaging with both traditional and emerging technologies.

Graduates of the Master in Integrated Architectural Design (MIAD) are prepared for both professional practice and academic research. The programme provides advanced training in integrated architectural and urban design, equipping students to work across multiple scales and contexts. Career paths include architectural and urban designer, researcher developing innovative responses to global challenges, and specialist roles related to urban strategies, design research and cultural production. In addition,
MIAD offers a strong research-oriented foundation that prepares graduates to pursue doctoral studies (PhD) in architecture, urbanism or related fields, both in academic institutions and research centres.
The MIAD Master’s programme is designed for university graduates such as architects, urban planners, landscape architects, engineers, and other humanities disciplines related to design.
The programme is taught entirely in English, so applicants must demonstrate a minimum B2 (First/FCE) level in both spoken and written English. If an applicant does not meet this requirement, an English level interview will be conducted with the Admissions and Academic Coordination team.
La Salle Campus Barcelona offers a variety of merit- and need-based scholarships available to international applicants. These include awards for academic excellence, social or economic circumstances, and other specific personal situations, helping ensure the programme remains accessible to talented students. Flexible payment plans are also offered to support your studies. Scholarship availability and criteria may vary each intake, so applicants are encouraged to contact the Admissions Office early to identify the options that best match their profile.
The MIAD teaching staff is composed of internationally experienced professionals, researchers, curators and editors from architecture and other design-related disciplines. The faculty combines academic rigour with professional practice and brings both local and international perspectives.
