SMIS tackles the challenge of equipping future business leaders with the mindset and the analytical tools needed to fully integrate sustainability into business activities. The Programme provides future managers and entrepreneurs with the knowledge and skills needed to effectively design, implement, and manage business strategies in increasingly complex markets, ecosystems and societies marked by the technological and ecological transition. With the enquiry-based educational model, students take an active role in the classroom, participating in open, ethical, and collaborative research on topics such as strategic innovation, entrepreneurship, finance, and law. They will also participate in project works with companies and other practical activities. Students can choose to specialise in Business Model Innovation, Emerging and Clean Technologies, and Circular Economy & SDGs Transformations, with dedicated labs to develop fundraising skills, incubate new project ideas, create a startup and design new business models.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. Applicants must demonstrate a minimum English language proficiency of B2 CEFR, certified by a recognised test issued no more than three years prior to application. Only the final level indicated on the certificate (B2, C1, or C2) will be considered; interim levels are not valid. Candidates who completed their entire undergraduate studies in English will automatically be assigned a presumed B2 level. However, in order to be considered for a higher level (and any associated benefits), one of the accepted certificates showing that level must be uploaded during the application process. Please note: if you apply for a programme taught in Italian, you must provide a certificate showing at least B2 proficiency in Italian at the time of enrolment.
