FURTHER INFORMATION

All applicants must:

  • Normally have 120 Level 5 credits in a relevant subject, or a relevant diploma or a portfolio of evidence mapped to University Standard Descriptors level 5.
  • ‘Have completed a period of experience of sufficient length to have consolidated pre-registration outcomes and to have gained a deeper understanding in relevant professional practice’ (NMC  2001, 9.2)
  • Be supported in practice for the duration of the course by an appropriately qualified practitioner (currently a sign-off mentor with due regard (NMC 2008))
  • Demonstrate the ability to study independently at Level 6.

Additionally, students must have active registration on specific parts of the NMC Professional Register as determined by the NMC (2001):

For the District Nursing pathway:

  • All applicants must be registered as a first level nurse – adult (RN1, RNA)
