- Learning activities include master classes and broad range of seminars explore performance practice in the broader humanistic and scientific contexts of music, while encouraging the critical thinking and the fertile exchange of ideas that promote new ways of engaging with music;
- The artistic research may assume a variety of forms from the study of scores, works, and contextual influences through the analysis of performance itself and the creation of new works;
- Students benefit from collaboration opportunities with other artistic disciplines through IPLAI, CIRMMT, and networking with European Conservatory Artistic Research group;
- Students receive mentoring from internationally renowned coaches and the research expertise of faculty from the Department of Music Research;
- The School houses several performance spaces, research & production laboratories, and two libraries with a vast collection of music resources. It is also home to the Centre for Interdisciplinary Research in Music Media and Technology (CIRMMT), an inter-institutional research centre containing six dedicated research labs and work spaces.
