This course is designed for students who already hold an undergraduate degree and want to gain an NMC-registered qualification in Mental Health Nursing. Developed in partnership with our NHS trust partners, the programme equips you with the essential knowledge and practical skills needed to provide compassionate and effective care for people experiencing mental health difficulties.
You will study at our highly regarded facilities at the West Stand of the StoneX Stadium in Barnet, recently redeveloped as part of a £23 million project. With placements at leading London NHS hospitals, including North London NHS Foundation Trust, you will gain real-world experience in some of the capital’s most innovative healthcare settings.
During the course you will study topics including therapeutic communication to support recovery, anatomy and physiology, pathophysiology, medicine management and drug calculations, and the fundamentals of mental health nursing care and research.
You will develop the skills needed to become a reflective and evidence-based practitioner who can contribute to service improvement. By graduation, you will be prepared to work autonomously and collaboratively in health and social care teams.
With 145 years of experience delivering professional education, Middlesex University prepares students for meaningful careers. On successful completion of the course, you will be eligible to register as a Mental Health Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and begin your career supporting people to live healthier lives.
