You will learn to operate as a critically reflective Physics teacher and develop competence across the entire range of the National Curriculum for Science. You will learn to integrate theory and practice, as part of a stimulating and ambitious curriculum.

  • Strong course structure - The PGCE Physics with Science (QTS) course has been developed with input from partnership schools. The curriculum allows you to develop a deep understanding of science pedagogy.
  • Learn through practice - We have a range of specialist science and teaching facilities, providing you with a solid foundation on which to develop your skills and experience. We have excellent relationships with partnership schools.
  • Professional development - This one-year full-time course, enables you to meet the national standards for the award of qualified teacher status (QTS). This will offer you the opportunity to secure a teaching post in all UK state-funded schools.

Admission Requirements

2.7+
For this course, ideally, we are looking for these qualifications:

  • A second-class honours degree 2:2 or above with at least 50% physics content supported by a strong A Level (or equivalent) 
  • We also accept the equivalency tests by Equivalency Testing, A Star Teachers or any other appropriately accredited provider. We cannot accept functional skills, key skills or IELTS.
