For degree students, it usually takes 4-6 years for Bachelor, 1-4 years for Master and 2-7 years for Doctoral degree students to fulfill their academic studies.

Dual degree programs are based on formal agreements between NTHU and partner universities. Current dual degree programs at NTHU span from Bachelor to PhD. Students who are qualified will be admitted to the program and awarded two degrees respectively by NTHU and the partner university upon fulfillment of all graduation requirements of both universities. To expand self-learning fields, NTHU library is indeed the best place for students to start finding related resources. The library includes the main one and four branches. Nowadays, there are more than seven million collections and provide a variety of space for visitors. Under the "University System of Taiwan (members: NTHU, NYCU, NCU, NCCU) " developed in last two decades, the four universities integrate their library resources so that NTHU students can easily borrow books across the above universities for free.

Student life
NTHU owns a very convenient transportation and there are multiple public transportation with stops right in front of the campus gate. For examples, by simply taking a highway bus for 1.5 hour, students may easily reach Taipei, the capital city of Taiwan. And for 1 hour to reach the Taoyuan Airport directly.
Inside the campus, restaurants in NTHU scatter in ten corners of this campus which offer a variety of food, from Chinese to Western style and even contain options for vegans. NTHU surely provides a friendly dining environment for all foreign students coming here. Also s hops are everywhere inside this campus serving all the needs students would require, including two convenience stores (Family Mart and 7-11), one Post Office, Laundry Shop, Book Shop and more.
Dormitories
There are 27 dorm buildings, 8,300 beds in total and are all available inside the school campus. Foreign freshmen will have priority to be assigned a space in dormitories. Please refer to Division of Student Housing for details.
Colorful Clubs
Over 200 student clubs are available which provide opportunities to develop students' mental, social skills and leadership. For foreign students, there are also specific functional clubs, such as International Students Association (FSA). Please refer to Division of Student Activities for details.
Newbie Program
For all international degree students, NTHU provide a buddy program: Newbie Program. It aims to create a friendly environment, helping students get easier adapting to NTHU through plenty of events and chances to interact with local students (the bee partners).
