Tsing Hua Linguistics is one of the best programs in theoretical linguistics and studies of Chinese and Austronesian languages in Taiwan. The Institute aims to provide advanced training in linguistics, focusing on both theoretical thinking and empirical analysis. The research aim is a systematic and in-depth study of languages spoken in Taiwan and surrounding areas from the descriptive and theoretical perspectives, including, but not restricted to, Phonetics, Phonology, Syntax, Semantics, Historical Linguistics, Computational Linguistics, Neurolinguistics, Psycholinguistics, and Sociolinguistics. We welcome applicants from all over the world to our Ph.D. and MA programs. We have international students from South Korea, India, Russia, German, the US, and other countries. Most of our alumni hold a teaching or research position in educational or academic institutions, in Taiwan and in different countries of the world.
