This is a Joint Degree between two of Italy’s most prestigious universities, Bocconi and Politecnico di Milano, have joined forces to prepare new professionals in the field of transformative sustainability. The two-year program, entirely taught in English, is based on a complementary blend of their strengths: Politecnico brings knowledge on the most advanced technologies and an engineering approach to design, innovate and manage sustainable systems. Bocconi shares its expertise on the strategic and economic aspects of sustainability.

This cutting-edge program combines fields in technology (technologies for the environment, energy, mobility and circularity) with the fields in the social sciences (management, economics and quantitative and legal disciplines) that are needed to manage a just sustainable transition within organizations.

1st year

Semester 1 @ Bocconi: Corporate Sustainability Strategies
and Governance; Sustainable Finance and ESG Investing;  Impact and Sustainability Measurement; ESG Law;  Environmental Economics and Climate Change;  Sustainable Leadership Seminar


Semester 2 @ Politecnico: Designing Sustainable Cities;  Innovation for Sustainability; Materials towards Circular  Economy; Ecological Processes, Environmental Impacts  and Transition towards Sustainability; Technologies for the  Energy Transition towards Sustainability; Critical Thinking  and Complex Decision Making

2nd year

The "Laurea" (equivalent to Bachelor of Science) programme is an undergraduate degree obtained after a three-year course of study and aims to provide a solid foundation in the core scientific subjects as well as more specialized, professional training. During the third year, the student is expected to acquire work experience by doing an internship at a company or studio. Once the student obtains the "Laurea", he/she can either directly enter the job market or continue his/her studies by the applying to the "Laurea Magistrale" (equivalent to Master of Science).

The "Laurea Magistrale" degree (equivalent to Master of Science) is obtained after two years of postgraduate studies and aims to provide rigorous, advanced training in specific sectors.

Once completed, the Laurea Magistrale programme gives access to a Doctoral programme.

The majority of Politecnico di Milano Laurea Magistrale programmes are taught in English.

From an administrative point of view, you will enroll at Bocconi, so tuition fees and application procedures are those of Bocconi university, but you will study 50% at Bocconi and 50% at Politecnico di Milano
