The Specialization in Pediatrics at Universidad de La Sabana places special emphasis on training in the management of current national pathologies and emerging conditions, including those derived from violence, armed conflict, and displacement. These include child abuse, physical and psychological trauma, increased malnutrition and its consequences, and decreased immunization coverage against immunological risks.
The program offers training with a preventive approach based on regional epidemiological and demographic profiles. These aspects are developed through the Social Pediatrics component, as well as through the design and implementation of health promotion and disease prevention programs.
A key distinctive feature of the program is its strong foundation in Pediatric Clinical Nutrition, complemented by practical training during the Pediatric Nutrition rotation, taking into account national morbidity rates associated with malnutrition.
