MISSION The mission of the Indonesian Linguistics undergraduate program is as follows: 1. Organizing education in the field of Indonesian Linguistics to produce graduates who are innovative, adaptive, and responsive to global challenges. 2. Developing research in the field of Indonesian Linguistics oriented towards the advancement of science, technology, and art towards becoming a research university. 3. Dedicate the science of Indonesian Linguistics to the advancement of society. 4. Building cooperation with governmental and private institutions at the national and international levels.
The profile of graduates from the Bachelor's Degree in Indonesian Linguistics has been imbued with a sense of nationalism, as inherited from the founding fathers of Indonesia during the birth of the Indonesian language, which was filled with struggle. The Indonesian language is one of the national identities of Indonesia and is enshrined in Article 36 of the 1945 Constitution, which states that the national language is Indonesian. This article represents the official recognition and affirmation by the state regarding the use of symbols, including language, as the identity of the nation and the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia.
Furthermore, the Indonesian language holds its own value for the Indonesian nation, as it has made significant contributions to the formation of unity and nationalism in Indonesia. It is one of the elements that constitute the national identity of Indonesia as a diverse nation. This progress is a combination of elements that form the core identity, including history, culture, ethnicity, religion, and language.

Therefore, the profile of graduates from the Bachelor's Degree in Indonesian Linguistics at Universitas Pembangunan Nasional Veteran East Java is expected to be responsive to these conditions. Graduates must be able and ready to adapt to all fronts. Equipped with soft skills and the character of national defense, graduates must be adept, responsive, and not be bewildered by the changes and current needs.
Based on the above description, the profile of graduates from the Bachelor's Degree in Indonesian Linguistics at Universitas Pembangunan Nasional Veteran Jawa Timur can have roles in expertise fields or job sectors after completing the study program, including but not limited to the following:
1. Graduates acquire expertise as language experts in manuscript editing in companies with a nationalistic character. 2. Graduates acquire expertise as expert language witnesses in courts/police with a nationalistic character. 3. Graduates acquire expertise as practitioners in the medical field, especially in speech therapy, aphasia, dementia, dyslexia, or other language-related issues, with a nationalistic character. 4. Graduates acquire expertise in teaching Indonesian Linguistics and can collaborate with various practitioners. This aims to enhance collaboration with various parties to support Indonesian Linguistics scholarship both nationally and internationally with a nationalistic character. 5. Graduates acquire expertise as novice researchers who master core linguistic sciences, supporting sciences (supporting science and technology), as well as specialization sciences and developing self-potential in designing, implementing, evaluating, and innovating Indonesian Linguistics learning to develop and manage relevant and responsive additional skills with the demands of science and information technology development with the principles of lifelong learning, prioritizing humanistic values, entrepreneurial spirit (literacy-preneurship), and national defense character. 6. Graduates acquire expertise as practitioners in language bodies or language centers. The knowledge gained by each graduate can be applied through these institutions with a nationalistic character. 7. Graduates acquire expertise as writers, both as academic writers and non-academic writers such as poets, short story writers, novelists, and comic book artists with a nationalistic character. 8. Graduates acquire expertise as book editors/manuscript editors while considering the development of linguistic science such as correct official/spelling in Indonesian and national defense character. 9. Graduates acquire expertise as journalists/reporters with an objective attitude in accordance with the nationalistic character instilled in them. 10. Graduates acquire expertise as presenters/broadcasters on television or radio with a nationalistic character. 11. Graduates acquire expertise as players in the film industry such as directors, producers, screenwriters, and actors/actresses who understand digital literacy and have a national defense character. 12. Graduates acquire expertise as politicians who can use language critically and convey the aspirations of the people, prioritizing nationalism and national defense character.
