International law consists of the set of rules generally regarded and accepted as binding in relationships between governments and between nations. It serves as a framework for the practice of stable and organized international relations.
In this age of world-wide interdependency, the importance of international law is steadily increasing. Global economic interrelations, new threats from international terrorism, migration, and the effects of climate change present new challenges and issues of policy and law that, due to their international nature, can only be resolved through intergovernmental solutions.
This Master’s programme in International Law (LL.M.) provides a general introduction to international law and its role in today’s complex and interdependent world. Special emphasis will be placed upon international trade, investments, and arbitration. This allows students to strengthen and broaden their knowledge of international law and supports their professional development by enhancing their problem-solving skills in a transnational context.
