The breeding and development of new varieties, together with associated activities, is one of the most promising areas of technology for the future. The combination of conventional selection methods with new biotechnologies for the development of new materials for sustainable agriculture and the production of higher quality products adapted to the new demands of society are and will be areas of continuous expansion in both the private and public sectors over the coming decades.
This master's degree is part of the Doctoral Programme in Biotechnology, honoured with the Mention of Quality (MCD-2006-00536) and the Mention of Excellence for Doctoral Programmes (MEE2011-0326), awarded by the Ministry of Education.

Admission Requirements

Aimed at

  • Graduates of Agricultural Engineering, Forestry Engineering, Technical Agricultural Engineering (specialising in Farming, Horticulture and Gardening, and Agricultural and Food Industries) and Technical Forestry Engineering.
  • Graduates of Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Food Science and Technology, Environmental Sciences, Biological Sciences and Oenology.
  • Other graduates in the field of agrifood and life sciences.

Students may request recognition of subjects on the basis of previous qualifications and professional experience.
