The MSt in Applied Criminology, Penology and Management has traditionally been intended for prison and probation practitioners. In addition to such applicants, Cambridge now also welcome candidates working elsewhere in the Criminal Justice System, both in the UK and overseas. The MSt programme aims to: Introduce senior criminal justice professionals, to some of the most important and cutting-edge ideas and research in criminology, penology, leadership and management, grounded in contemporary challenges and experiences of criminal justice, as well as longstanding themes and debates; Provide students with opportunities to reflect on their own practice, as well as criminal justice policy and practice more broadly, including internationally; Equip students with methodological skills so that they can locate, understand, undertake and evaluate research, and apply it in their professional practice; and provide world-leading instruction, and academic, pastoral and administrative support that enables students to realise their educational goals and gain a University of Cambridge Postgraduate Certificate or Master's Degree in Applied Criminology, Penology and Management.
