Our graduate program consists of 19 faculty members and about 70 graduate students. We have an eclectic group of student who has come to Kansas from all over the World. The program focuses on a cohesive graduate student body that allows students to work together in furthering their educational goals while gaining the skills they will need in their chosen field. With a comprehensive approach in Anthropology, students are trained across a broad range of topics with special emphasis placed on the sub disciplines of: Archaeology, Biological anthropology, sociocultural anthropology, Linguistic anthropology. The M.A. is tailored to the needs of individual students within each subdiscipline and stress intensive one-on-one discussions between students and their advisers.

Regular admission requires a bachelor's degree and a grade-point average of at least a B (3.0 on a 4.0 scale) from KU, regionally accredited institution, or foreign university with substantially equivalent bachelor's degree requirements. The bachelor's degree is not acceptable if it contains credit awarded for work experience that was not directly supervised by faculty members of an accredited university or not evaluated in units that identify the academic content. Other English Language Requirements: TOEFL (paper) all part scores at least 53.
