This course covers the project management process from inception and feasibility, engineering, procurement and implementation, through to commissioning and operation; particular emphasis is placed on financial, planning and management aspects of the project life-cycle; the course is designed for individuals such as engineers, technologists and managers, who want to develop and enhance their project management skills; the course develops the expertise necessary for improved business delivery of projects in an engineering environment, perhaps in construction, oil and gas, petrochemical or process industries; in order to ensure relevance with industry the programme has also been developed to comply with international standards and both the APM and PMI bodies of knowledge; on graduation students are likely to work as project managers for construction companies, in consultancy or for large client organisations.
