The University of Newcastle Master of Clinical Medicine (Leadership and Management) will enable you to learn to evaluate, assess and develop clinical competence. You will gain a deeper understanding of how the Australian health service is structured, financed and performs from a local, national and international perspective, and learn the economics and clinical governance of health care systems. You will also develop advanced skills necessary for leading effective high-performing inter-professional clinical teams. The program is comprised of eight courses, five of which are core to both specialisations. Students in the Medicine Specialisation complete a further three compulsory courses and students in the Health Specialisation complete three directed courses from a list of clinical and leadership courses. This online course is only available for domestic students.

Master of Clinical Medicine (Leadership and Management) (Medicine) Specialisation

(1) Registered medical practitioner. International medical graduates in Australia are encouraged to apply. Medical graduates working overseas are also encouraged to apply and their application will be reviewed by the Program Convenor on a case by case basis.

(2) Australian applicants are required to be registered with the Australian Health Professional Registration Authority (AHPRA). International applicants will need to demonstrate current registration with their equivalent health professional registration authority.

(3) English language skills to the appropriate level


Master of Clinical Medicine (Leadership and Management) (Health) Specialisation

(1) Health professional registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Registration Authority (AHPRA), national board, or another recognised accrediting body.

(2) Completed a minimum of a four year undergraduate degree or three year degree with at least one year's experience in a clinical setting

(3) English language skills to the appropriate level
