- Are you looking for a degree that gives you flexibility, industry engagement, professional development, expert knowledge and practice? Our Bachelor of Early Childhood Education is for you.
- UniSQ’s Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood) is designed to prepare graduates who are confident to teach children in prior to school settings and P-3 classrooms.
- With regular opportunities to engage with current educators and industry, in both early childhood settings and school contexts, you’ll be able to cross the gap between theory and practice. UniSQ graduates are highly sought after and employable in both prior to school settings and early childhood classrooms.
- Do you already have an early childhood qualification from TAFE or another recognised provider? UniSQ may be able to offer you recognition for prior learning to help you complete your degree faster.
Professional accreditation
As a graduate, you are prepared to support the learning of children from birth to eight years of age, which means you are eligible to apply for teacher registration through the Queensland College of Teachers. To be eligible for registration in Queensland, both domestic and international students are required to attend the majority of placements in settings within Australia.
All students must provide evidence of an attempt at the Literacy and Numeracy Test for Initial Teacher Education (LANTITE) by the end of their first year, which is measured by 8 courses/units of study. For First Nations language speakers, recognition of First Nations language proficiency by a relevant cultural authority is an acceptable alternative standard. Additionally, students are made aware of this requirement through block announcements on designated first year StudyDesks, Orientation programs and student notifications when Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER) test windows become available.
This program is approved with the Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA) and the Queensland College of Teachers (QCT).
