The Master in Economics and International Policies (MEPIN) is offered by the Faculty of Economics of Università della Svizzera italiana, USI, based in Lugano, in collaboration with Alta Scuola di Economia e Relazioni Internazionali (ASERI) of Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, based in Milan. The full-time study programme comprises 120 ECTS for a usual duration of 4 semesters and gives the possibility of obtaining a double degree, i.e:

  •   a Swiss Master's degree awarded by USI (Laurea magistrale under Swiss law);
  •   a first-level university Master's degree issued by the ASERI of the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore of Milan under Italian legislation.

In the new edition, more space has been given to economics and political science subjects and two courses in 'Methodology of Social Research' have been introduced. The MEPIN offers a wide range of scientific tools and specific skills that are indispensable for understanding the economic and political phenomena linked to globalisation and the functioning of public and international institutions. The proposed Master's programme develops its curriculum around the interdisciplinary study of economics, finance, law, international institutions and international politics. It will also provide multidisciplinary and managerial knowledge necessary to address issues such as sustainable development, economic and financial ethics and, more generally, forms of cooperation between public authorities and private economic operators aimed at achieving a common objective, such as the provision of a service or the creation and management of a project.

The program is taught in:
