The International Human Rights LLM course provides a thorough knowledge of human rights. It aims to set graduates for successful career in law and equip them with valuable skills employers look for, including ‘Advanced Legal Skills’ and ‘International Perspectives in Law’. The course mixes taught elements with independent research, and student can negotiate the topic of his/her dissertation project to fit both his/her personal interests and the supervisory expertise of Sunderland's tutors. Teaching and learning methods include weekly three-hour workshops. Assessment methods include written coursework, usually a 6,000-word essay for each taught module.
