This is a four-year version of our popular BA (Hons) Illustration and Design course, with an integrated foundation year. This course is ideal for those who are passionate about drawing and are full of creative ideas then this course will cultivate one’s talent. At Sunderland, students are encouraged to push the boundaries of illustration. The course blends traditional techniques with computer technology, such as virtual reality and 3D design. Students will have access to the latest digital illustration hardware including Apple Mac Pros, Wacom Cintiq drawing screens and virtual reality displays. This course is based at the Priestman Building, the main base for art, design and performance on City Campus.

1. Normally a minimum of three Level 2 qualifications (NVQ, GCSE or equivalent), including Maths and English at grade C or above** and a minimum of 40 UCAS tariff points from Level 3 qualifications (e.g. A or AS Levels, BTEC certificates/diplomas, access courses or equivalent)

2. Demonstrable evidence of appropriate knowledge and skills acquired from at least three years of post-school work experience.
