To provide psychological counseling services in the institutions of the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Higher Education, and the Ministry of Social Development, in addition to other institutions working in the field of training and human development, whether governmental or private especially.
2. Qualifying students in the postgraduate program and opening the way for them, after graduation, to continue their studies in doctoral programs in the fields of education and psychology. This is to meet the need for academics with higher qualifications to work and teach in Omani and Gulf colleges and universities, where relying on non-Omani competencies constitutes a high economic cost. 3. Confronting the many challenges facing Omani and Gulf society in the educational, social, and psychological fields through the studies and research that students will conduct in academic theses, which they will submit as one of the requirements for obtaining a master’s degree in this specialization. 4. It will contribute to raising awareness of the importance of psychological counseling and forming positive attitudes towards it, as it is among the most important services needed to help the individual understand himself, develop his personality, plan for his future, solve his problems, and thus achieve a better level of mental health. 5. Preparing qualified researchers in the field of student services and mental health.

7. Providing participants with the necessary knowledge and skills and conducting targeted research and workshops.

A Bachelor Degree in Education or its equivalent from a recognized university with a GPA not less than 2.5 out of 4.0 or equivalent.
The applicant may need to study remedial courses prior to starting the program and the student should complete the qualifying courses with a cumulative average of 2.50 from 4.00.
