The program aims to:

1. Provide students with the theoretical knowledge necessary to understand and critically reflect on contemporary ideas and developments in language studies and linguistics, and to establish a strong academic foundation sufficient to continue their studies in the same field.

2. Providing students with the necessary transferable skills to enable them to function within and contribute positively to relevant professional contexts.

3. Providing students with mentorship and opportunities to develop their academic competencies in areas such as presentations, tutorials, and various forms of writing (essays, research reports, critiques, etc.).

4. Providing students with training in navigation skills and equipping them with the skills necessary to conduct genre-based linguistic investigation.

5. Introducing students to different types of academic resources and guiding them to critically analyze and intelligently use them to justify arguments, support conclusions, question assumptions, and so on.

6. Introduce students to language varieties (regional and register-based variations) in order to broaden their understanding and appreciation of contemporary English usage in different contexts.

7. Empower students to formulate hypotheses, propose analyses, design and conduct language-based research, and handle and interpret data.

  • BA degree or its equivalent from a recognized university in a relevant field; with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.7 on a 4.0 grading scale or equivalent.


  • A Higher diploma or its equiretemnt from a recognized university with a cumulative GPA not lower than 2.7 on a 4.0 grading scale. A candidate must provide evidence of English language proficiency – either a TOEFL score of 550 (computer-based 123, iBT 79) or a 6 in IELTS (Academic).
