An academic program specifically designed to be offered as a new program offered by the Department of Arabic Language at the University of Nizwa. It consists of two tracks: the Linguistic Studies track and the Literary and Critical Studies track. The program allows full-time or part-time study, and its total hours are (90) credit hours, including 30 credit hours for academic courses, divided into: 21 hours for compulsory and joint courses according to the track chosen as a specific specialization (Linguistic Studies, or Literary and Critical Studies), and 9 hours for elective courses. The student submits a research proposal for a scientific thesis according to the track he is studying. The thesis is registered and actual preparation begins after completing the courses (in the fourth semester), and 60 credit hours are allocated to it. The thesis must make a clear contribution to the field of Arabic language and literature. The student must also publish at least one scientific paper, drawn from his or her thesis, in a specialized, peer-reviewed international journal, or obtain acceptance for publication, before the thesis is deemed ready for review and discussion.

Obtaining a Master's degree in Arabic Language and Literature from a university recognized by the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation, with a cumulative GPA of no less than 3 points on a standard four-point system or its equivalent on any other system approved and equivalent by the Deanship of Scientific Research and Graduate Studies and the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation.

Obtaining a master's degree by thesis. Students who pass the Comprehensive Proficiency Test may be accepted into the program provided they achieve a score of 70% on a written test.

Successfully pass a scientific interview.

Submitting a research proposal that demonstrates the student’s research ability.

Submit two letters of recommendation from academics, demonstrating the applicant's academic competence and research capabilities.

Letter of resignation for full-time students.
