The Business Technology major is designed to provide the student with the key information technology skills needed in today�s business environment, plus a firm grounding in the major business areas in which these skills will be applied. Graduates of the program may qualify for entry-level positions as programmers, systems analysts, consultants, user support analysts, or other information technology positions. The administration and management of today's business and government organizations rely heavily upon information technology for the efficient achievement of their goals. The collection, storage, and retrieval of data by computers is involved in the wide range of business activities including daily operations, management decision making, and long-range planning. As the dependence on management on information technology grows, so does the need for information technology specialists. Business Technology is one of the newer programs of study within the School of Business. Our program's rapid growth has reflected the growing need for teaching and research in the area of developing and managing computer-based information systems in administrative organizations. The program is based on the need to instruct future information technology (IT) professionals in a set of methodologies for managing information using digital information technology. The primary focus is on the problems of analyzing, designing, and managing information/decision systems.

Other English Language Requirements: Paper-based TOEFL score of 550. Those who have score below 500 should have 55 in Listening or 55 in Reading and 55 in Writing for the concurrent enrollment (Intensive English Program and 6 Academic Credits).
