Architectural engineers are leaders in the analysis, design, construction, and operation of engineered systems for buildings. These building systems include electrical, communications and control, lighting, heating, ventilating, air conditioning, fire protection, plumbing, acoustic, and structural systems. Consulting engineering firms, construction companies, architectural firms, government agencies, and universities employ architectural engineers. The objectives of the Architectural Engineering Program are to have graduates who within the first several years following graduation are either Working as a professional in an area closely related to architectural engineering or Pursuing a graduate or professional degree. Outcomes: Students who qualify for graduation in the architectural engineering program will have demonstrated the following: a. An ability to apply knowledge of mathematics, science, and engineering b. An ability to design and conduct experiments, as well as to analyze and interpret data c. An ability to design a system, component, or process to meet desired needs within realistic constraints d. An ability to function on multi-disciplinary teams e. An ability to identify, formulate, and solve engineering problems f. An understanding of professional and ethical responsibility g. An ability to communicate effectively h. The broad education necessary to understand the impact of engineering solutions in a global, economic, environmental, and societal context i. A recognition of the need for, and an ability to engage in life-long learning j. A knowledge of contemporary issues k. An ability to use the techniques, skills, and modern engineering tools necessary for engineering practice

Other English Language Requirements: Paper-based TOEFL score of 550. Those who have score below 500 should have 55 in Listening or 55 in Reading and 55 in Writing for the concurrent enrollment (Intensive English Program and 6 Academic Credits).
