Neuroscience is the study of the nervous system (i.e., the brain, spinal cord, and peripheral nerves), the mechanisms of behavior, and the nature of mind and consciousness. The program is a rigorous, interdisciplinary program between the Department of Psychology, the Department of Biology, and the Miller School of Medicine. The neuroscience major provides a broad-based liberal arts background that can be applied to a variety of career fields. It is also excellent preparation for medical school or graduate study in neuroscience, psychology, biology or behavioral medicine. The neuroscience major seeks to provide students with exposure to and a fundamental understanding of the neural and bio behavioral sciences by delivering an integrative educational experience and promoting interactions among faculty, graduate students, and undergraduate students in basic scientific inquiry, advising, and mentoring.

Other English Language Requirements: Paper-based TOEFL score of 550. Those who have score below 500 should have 55 in Listening or 55 in Reading and 55 in Writing for the concurrent enrollment (Intensive English Program and 6 Academic Credits).
