The aim of the Degree Programme is, above all, to provide sound basic training in the preservation, documentation, management and enhancement of cultural heritage. Cultural heritage understoodas the tangible and intangible sedimentation of the historical development of human civilisation (and as a basis for its further development) is of special importance in a country such as Italy. Its study implies learning in a wide range of different subject areas. The mandatory basic disciplines in the three-year programme are aimed at contextualising and understanding the cultural value of heritage correctly, referring to different fields of knowledge: historical and philological, legal and economical, geographical and anthropological, technical and scientific. This is the basis for the disciplines more specifically related to the four areas of cultural heritage, which are identified in the course structure diagram: archaeological, historical and artistic, musical, and library studies and archiving. A characteristic of the Cultural Heritage Degree Programme is the presence of workshops, which highlights the fact that the integration of a cultural approach and of a more technical and methodological approach is a key element.
