Amity University Kolkata's Department of Environmental Science has an outstanding reputation for both its research and instruction in the field. It easily ranks among the greatest departments in the nation. It has a faculty that is well-known for their research and teaching abilities, and it is extremely rich in academic potential. Since the Department's establishment in 2015, the students' strength has exceeded all expectations. The Department's expansion has coincided with the field of environmental science's transformation from a specialized body of legal and institutional knowledge to a more all-encompassing field that integrates and examines the foundations of natural sciences, pollution studies, environmental physics, and environmental zoology. The Department is highly regarded on a global scale in terms of environmental research and technology for environmental remediation. The department maintains a persistent interest in connecting with the greater community outside of the university fraternity as an essential component. Programmes offered by the department include B.Sc in Environmental Science. We support the development of specializations among our undergraduate students in fields including pollution studies, environmental remediation technology, and climate change and its effects. The Department/University supports service learning, internship programmes, and "on the job" learning opportunities to aid students in developing the skills necessary to advance in their careers. Through the establishment of curricula, the Department of Environmental Science has made significant contributions to the creation of domain knowledge. Along with this, the Department occasionally arranges educational excursions to noteworthy locations as a component of their course curriculum to provide students with first-hand knowledge. Every Thursday, as part of the Thursday activity, the Department also organizes brainstorming sessions like debates, quizzes, oratory competitions, poster-making competitions, etc. to develop their personalities.
